Working With Your Existing Azure Setup

Azure usually turns up for one reason: the rest of the organisation is on Microsoft, so the application has to be too. We do not sell Azure architecture and we are not a Microsoft partner. We deploy the applications we build into the Azure estate you already have, work with the Entra ID your IT team administers, and keep the infrastructure described in code rather than in somebody's memory.

Azure is the right cloud for organisations already in the Microsoft ecosystem: Entra ID (formerly AD), Office 365, Power Platform, Dynamics. The cross-product integrations are real — Single Sign-On with corporate Entra ID, Logic Apps that orchestrate Office and Dynamics, Power BI fed by Azure SQL or Synapse. For Microsoft-centric customers, Azure is the path of least resistance.

The platform itself is sprawling. App Service vs Functions vs Container Apps vs AKS — picking right matters. Cosmos DB has four different consistency models. Storage Account types are non-obvious. The Azure Resource Manager and Bicep are powerful but verbose. Junior teams pick wrong and pay for it through year-long contracts.

Networking in Azure is its own discipline. Virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, application gateways, Front Door, Private Endpoints. The defaults are often too permissive. Private networking between services is the default in mature cloud architectures and the exception in greenfield Azure setups. We tighten this from the start.

Cost in Azure is harder to optimise than AWS because the pricing dimensions are less consistent across services. Reserved Instances vs Savings Plans. Hybrid Use Benefits for licensed workloads. App Service tiers that change pricing model entirely. Without proactive monitoring and tag-based attribution, bills creep up quietly.
